Site created April 9th, using Microsoft Frontpage Express - a fairly basic package, but it does the job. ISP: Interalpha, dial-up, 28.8k modem.
Menu frame added. Entry route for non-frames browsers added. (This is only tested in text mode as I only have access to Lynx as a non-frames browser) Bitmap page headings added to main pages (I would like to do the same for the individual 'enlargement' pages but the extra 50 GIFs would put me above my paltry 5 Mb web site allowance! - not to mention the work involved every time I change a picture!!). This Change History page added. |

Tried out two "professional" web design programs - Dreamweaver and GoLive. GoLive arguably less powerful but far more user-friendly ... so decided to go with that. Received "Best Nature Sites Award" from the Butterfly Website. Added Award image & links to Butterfly Website. Added <alt> text description tags to all images Added gif 'flapping butterfly' logo to Home page; modified jpeg logos on other pages Upgraded modem to 56.6k (Site size now 4.6 Mb) |

ISP changed from Interalpha dial-up to BT Broadband at 500k download, 256k upload. (I LOVE broadband!!)
Website moved, redirection message left on Interalpha site. Same 5 Mb limit applies to BT's free customer websites. |

Changed text blocks from full-page-width, centre-justified, to fixed-width (540 pixel) left-justified - which hopefully makes it easier to read! (I've wanted to do this for some time, but never got around to it until now). Replaced green divider bars - now 540 pixels to match text blocks New photos added. Updated "About Me" page to include life since taking early retirement. Re-vamped website design page. New section added: The Print Shop. |

New section added: Landscapes.
Menu improved. Ailing (well, dead actually) webcounter changed to "cheap'n'cheerful" BT-supplied counter. Old total transferred across - 3831 - although I think it stopped counting some time ago! Average works out at about 3 visitors per day since start-up; not bad considering that I don't advertise and only ever submitted this website to the main search engines once back at the beginning! Starting to thin-down green divider bars from 5 pixels to 1 pixel. Rather than go through every page, I will only change on pages I visit for other reasons. [ Noted from BT User Group website that BT customer webspace allocation now 20 Mb. Nobody told me! This website is now approx. 9 Mb, so plenty of room for even more pictures... :-) ] |

I decided that it was time to have my own domain name. I have therefore created a new photography website at www.imagesfromnature.net. This new website will now become my main photo gallery and "shop". Further updating of www.paul.chesterfield.btinternet.co.uk is therefore unlikely. |
